Ebuild updated to reflect that.Įxpanded support for preventing sleep mode on Windows and macOSĪdded support for MXPlayer on Google AndroidĪdded support for Microsoft Windows Media Player Note - the new versions of UMS appear to only be released with Java 7. Recently the UMS group put out 6.7.0 and then 6.7.1 (in one day, minor bugs in 6.7.0 which made the release no good). So in your case run it again after eselecting that other jvm. The following VMs are available for generation-2: Thanks for the ebuild! It emerged fine but when I try to run I get Code:Įxception in thread "main" : net/pms/PMS : Unsupported major.minor version 52.0Īt 1(Native Method)Īt (ClassLoader.java:803)Īt (SecureClassLoader.java:142)Īt (URLClassLoader.java:442)Īt $100(URLClassLoader.java:64)Īt $1.run(URLClassLoader.java:354)Īt $1.run(URLClassLoader.java:348) Hey Quarky - your ebuild isn't in in sync with the updates I've done, could you please sync up with mine? I added more USE flags. I put a comment on the bug for the package request stating I'd like to moderate by proxy. This package seems pretty straightforward to keep up. Those that have never had a hard drive fail. This route may be a first step to becoming a gentoo dev yourself.

You get the credit when it goes well, the dev that does the commit gets the blame if it doesn't. No word yet from the powers that be about adding this to the mainline tree. I was expecting the default config file under /etc/ or something like that.Īdded 6.6.0 to my snapshot of my local repo for those who don't want to use an overlay. I guess often when running a service in console/daemon form, the actual user does not have a home directory. I have it overlayed on my Pine64 install of gentoo, and it's working relatively well.

If anyone cares still about this, I've modified the ps3mediaserver ebuild to make it work. Posted: Sat 3:44 pm Post subject: Preliminary Ebuild for 6.5.1 If so: Any feedback on how good it is/isn't? I'm about to do it manually, but obviously I'd rather do it through portage. Posted: Wed 4:31 pm Post subject: Universal Media Server Time to back off and do what works best with my set up and what I'm looking for with what I have.īack on topic, Great job on UMS! I will play around with it on my Sony TV.Gentoo Forums :: View topic - Universal Media Server I'm just as guilty as the next noob, but I'm just tired of keeping up with the latest trends and gadgets and apps and streamlining gear. By the time I'm done, should be perfect for me. Still working on a security system and a Nest thermostat. Plenty of stuff to fall back on as far as Airplay is concerned. ATV3 has the best Netflix app, my receiver (Marantz 6006) for Pandora, other components(Panasonic BDT220 (why I was looking as UMS to begin with), and DTV), w/an iTach, Roomie Remote app, and an iPad was the best solution for whole home automation. So far, for me, the best solution was XBMC for my media and a ATV3 for netflix and what not. Just sold a PCH A200 w/80GB HDD on e-bay. Had a good setup with the add-on but I was just looking for a one stop shop as far as media player. I do like the PCH but I was having problems with forced subtitles (MI:III, Avatar, others).
